Angie, Practice Manager

A different day, a different hat - human resources, facilities repair, budgeting, marketing, project management, and you-name-it!  Working together with our Owner, Dr. Matson, Angie makes sure we have our bases covered.  Angie has had a wide variety of professional experience – she worked as a veterinary assistant, wildlife rehabilitator, teacher, researcher, and entrepreneur before joining us in 2010.  Angie obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Cognitive and Social Psychology from the International University Bremen in Germany and attends professional seminars on a regular basis.  In her spare time, she enjoys playing vintage board games and being mom to her senior kitties.

Carlie, Veterinary Assistant / Front Desk

With her excellent customer service skills, you will often find Carlie greeting you as you walk in the door or answering your phone call. Since 2013, Carlie has been a fantastic “cat wrangler”, treatment assistant, and her favorite, care coordinator – making sure all the details of your visit go smoothly. In addition to her full time job here, Carlie is working towards her Bachelor's degree at Cascadia. Secretly a good singer, Carlie enjoys reading books about WWII, going hiking, and exploring the many wineries and breweries in our area.

Carrie, Kennel Assistant / Veterinary Assistant

After working for more than 30 years as a file maintenance clerk with Safeway, Carrie joined us in 2006 to do what she always wanted – work with animals.  As our Queen of Efficiency, Carrie can manage the work of many by herself without missing a beat.  Her favorite part of her job with us is taking patient histories and providing education for our clients.  Married for more than 35 years, Carrie is mom to her two adult sons, two dogs – Frankie and Tucker, and 16 (!!) rabbits.  One of her many hobbies is showing her Holland Lops at fairs and exhibitions around the country.

Chloe, Veterinary Assistant

Chloe has had a passion for animals all her life, so it was a natural step for her to pursue a career in the field.  Chloe joined us in 2014 as a kennel assistant and was soon working as vet assistant.  Chloe is now enrolled in a program to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician and learning a lot along the way.   Outside of the clinic, Chloe tends to her plants and has recently taken up quilting. Chloe lives in Woodinville with her family and her goofy cats, Max and Evangeline.

Elliot, Licensed Veterinary Technician

With over 8 years of experience in the veterinary field, Elliot is a dedicated pet caregiver. She received her Veterinary Technician license just over 3 years ago and has experience in both general and emergency medicine. One of her favorite parts of the job is monitoring anesthesia. When not working, she can be found listening to music, playing video games, or taking her three-legged dog, Miychi, on hikes. She recently received her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biology from the University of Washington and plans to go on to medical school to become a human doctor.

Jen, Kennel Assistant

Even though Jen officially left in 2010 to begin her studies at Washington State University's School of Veterinary Medicine, she continues to be a part of our clinic by coming back to help us out as a kennel assistant during her breaks.  As a veterinarian-in-training, Jen seeks out every opportunity to learn about animals.  Naturally, she is mom to many pets including a big Maine Coon cat named Mr. Kite and two axolotls, Cecil and Wanda.  In addition to her passion for animals, Jenn is also fluent in French and is a talented artist.

Kelsey, Veterinary Assistant / Front Desk

No matter the day, Kelsey brings a smile and a friendly atmosphere to our clinic.  A lifelong dog-lover, Kelsey first joined us in 2009 as a kennel assistant, where she excelled and quickly discovered she wanted more.  As a veterinary assistant, Kelsey works directly with clients and patients and takes great pride in making our patients’ visits as easy and enjoyable as possible.  She is a Woodinville High School graduate and holds an AA degree in Arts & Sciences.  Outside of work, Kelsey enjoys everything outdoors – rain or shine - where you will often see her walking her dogs, Touge and Haze, who are adorably-obsessed with each other.

Megan, Veterinary Assistant

A Navy veteran, Megan is pursuing her civilian career to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician. During the morning, Megan attends school and then joins us in the afternoon as a vet assistant. She finds working hands-on with our patients to be the most rewarding part of her job, so you will often find her helping the doctor with your pet’s exam. When not immersed in veterinary medicine, Megan enjoys watching movies with her dog and cat, crocheting, and hiking, though not all at the same time.

Mel, Veterinary Assistant

Mel has joined Hollywood Hill with many years of experience in the veterinary, pet insurance, and retail fields. She loves all animals but has a special affinity for furry felines. She is currently owned by one named Gabriel. Mel’s passion in veterinary medicine comes from her ability and desire to help make pets feel better – whether it be helping them become less nervous about a vet visit or heal from an injury. When she is not fawning over pets, she can be found with family and friends, exploring her hometown, or gold panning in Index.

Nathan, Kennel Assistant

Bio coming soon!

Nora, Kennel Assistant

Nora was born to work with animals – she was even named after her parents’ Alaskan Malamute. Having grown up with cats and dogs, she has worked with cats and dogs of all kinds. With more than 6 years of professional pet care experience, Nora has a great eye for our pets’ well-being – making sure all are comfortable and alerting the doctor if anything is amiss. Nora continues to grow in her position and hopes to one day become a veterinary assistant.

Sarah, Veterinary Assistant

Sarah has been a fabulous addition to our team. After spending many years as a pet rehabilitation therapist (think physical therapy for dogs and cats!), she decided to return to general practice in 2015. Originally from the Midwest, she has taken every opportunity to explore Washington's beautiful forests since moving to the Pacific Northwest. Sarah has a deep passion for animals, which is clearly evident when you meet her. Whether it be assisting in surgery or checking your pet in for an appointment, she is always thinking with the pet's comfort in mind.
